So, here we have a figure that may straddle the line between AnimeCDX and CollectionDX! A "re-imagined" statue of one of the token female characters from the classic Go Nagai giant robot anime UFO Grendizer!

Although no scale is given, I estimate that she is about 1/8 scale, basing it on other figures of similar size (and 1/8 scale is generally the standard scale of most anime figures). I just have to say, the amount of detail on this figure is staggering. You can just see the love and care that went into an item such as this.

Both Batgirl and Supergirl sculpts have above-average detail for evident things like the batarang and utility belt on Batgirl but nothing else. From a distance and the right angle, they look okay but when you get REALLY close? You start to lose the character that so many Japanese statues have

Contrary to what everyone complains about, I don’t think that the new reimagined, designs for these characters is bad. I think the broad issues are actually with the quality and details of the figures themselves rather then with the original sculpt.

Personally, I dislike it when statues are crouched because they take up too much horizontal space-but it fits the personality of the character and it goes along well with the entourage of Kotobukiya’s other Batman character statues.

Where the Kotobukiya Superman statue perfectly captures the heroic alpha male aspects, the awesome sculpt of the Supergirl statue captures the sexy essence of this version of Supergirl.
