This was a solid effort (i.e., a hefty statue) and really a wonderful statue by Griffin with a clean sculpt and a great pose but I’m not sure that the casual collector will think much of the price tag for the relatively simple (if beautiful) sculpt of this Ryofu statue.

It’s so rare for there to be figures based on 80’s anime. Noriko and the rest of the cast’s character designs were done by Haruhiko Mikimoto who is best known for doing the character designs for Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, Super Dimensional Century Orguss and Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket. IMO, he is quite possibly one of the best character designers ever from the 1980’s era of anime production. The designs for Gunbuster were adapted for animation by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, who is one of the top character designers for the 90’s era of anime and did work for Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Famous Japanese manga artist Masamune Shirow, creator of Ghost In the Shell, Appleseed , Orion and a healthy amount of hentai has over the years created a number of visually iconic characters, both for his stories and for various pinups and art. Much of this work has been published in his Intron Depot books published in the US by Dark Horse. One of these characters is one of many provocatively dressed police officer from Intron Depot 3: Ballistics.

How can something so cute cause so much frustration? It probably stems from the fact that the Waffebunny is actually only an accessory set. There is no actual figure included; only parts that can be used to modify an existing figure.

If you are a fan of this type of figure then I can’t imagine you not liking this.
